Who is Gottman?
Dr John and Julie Gottman are clinical psychologists who have dedicated their lives and work to helping couples. They are renowned experts in their field of relationships, advisory and research work. Dr. John Gottman has been recognised as one of the top 10 most influential therapists of the last quarter century, whilst Dr. Julie Gottman is an expert advisor on relationships. Together they have developed a range of tools, resources and training to further assist others in relationship work.
What is the relationship check-up?
A clinical tool, consisting of 480 questions about friendship, intimacy, how well you know your partner, how you manage emotions and conflict, how you share you values and goals, and what gives meaning to your lives.
The questionnaire is administered via online platform, allowing for complete anonymity and flexibility.
What’s is the purpose?
The questionnaire allows for your therapist to complete the evaluation process in a confidential and efficient way. It will automatically provide your therapist with clinically relevant information, specifying the strengths and challenges in your relationship. Furthermore, providing actionable, research-based recommendations for therapy. Helping build a personalised treatment plan for you and your partner.
How to get started:
1. Each partner will need to provide an email, where we will send you a link to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of a range of questions relating the topics/information above.
2. Once you have completed the questionnaire your therapist will receive a report. You will receive a written overview of strengths and weaknesses prior to your follow up session
3. You then have a choice of telephone or face-to-face to discuss strengths and weaknesses, which includes an 80 min session.
4. Choice to follow-up by booking a couples therapy session – There is NO obligation to continue, this only an option.
